Another workaholic night. It’s 11 pm. My eyes are droopy but while I’m listening to webinar recordings about short sales, Lani drops me a line about my latest blathering. So I swing by her site and end up reading about her son.
I always chuckle when people come into my open houses and say they’re just looking, have nothing better to do, just thought they’d stop in. It reminds me of when I was a kid. My mother would drag me around to open houses. She was one of those people.
I’m sure the agents were thrilled to see a sticky, dirty kid run through the houses with just-cleaned carpets and freshly painted walls.
But who knew? I still like going to open houses, just to look. Thanks for the memory Lani.

I’m not a Realtor but I am an industry member (email me if you care to be bored by the details of Rain Making)… I go to Open Houses and put on Open Houses frequently; I’ve found that asking ANY child questions before asking the adults is not only a great ice breaker but you can get some honest feedback (“it smells funny in here” or “uh, I like the windows n stuff” or “that room is really big” or “omg, a spider”).
